Shelbire Pierre Paul earned her JD from Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University and holds a degree in Business Management from Quinnipiac University. During her time at Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University, Shelbire spent a year in the Criminal Justice Clinic where she served as a Student Attorney and represented clients charged with misdemeanor crimes in the Bronx Criminal Court. Additionally, she evaluated each case individually focusing on potential collateral and immigration consequences for her clients. Shelbire represents established businesses and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation. Her practice focuses on the defense of claims related to general liability, automobile liability, transportation matters, premises liability and personal injury litigation.
Prior to joining Brooks & Berne, Shelbire Pierre Paul served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. She prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases, as well as prosecuting cases in the New Rochelle City Court's Opportunity for Youth Part. During her time at the District Attorney's Office, Shelbire gained extensive experience handling a diverse and high volume caseload, handling cases that then went on to hearings and trials, and drafting legal motions and memoranda. Shelbire has gained extensive experience within the New York State's Court system.
Shelbire brings a disciplined and tactical approach to litigation, backed by her extensive experience working with expert witnesses, law enforcement, and victims. Additionally Shelbire is bilingual, being fluent in English and Haitian Creole.
