Mark Grodberg

Partner

Mark S. Grodberg is a seasoned trial attorney admitted to practice in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and throughout New York State. With over two decades of litigation experience, Mark brings a comprehensive approach to litigating and resolving lawsuits. He has spent much of his career defending real estate developers, building owners, management companies, contractors, retail and restaurant businesses, and other business entities in the defense of personal injury matters, including those involving,  premises accidents, motor vehicle accidents, labor law and construction matters, as well as dram shop, lead paint, and many other types of litigation cases. He has also handled commercial law and bankruptcy matters.

Mark’s background as a defense attorney with a fair amount of plaintiff’s side experience gives him a distinct advantage in regard to his adversary’s litigation and settlement strategies and expectations. He knows how the other side thinks, anticipates their tactics, and uses that insight to craft stronger, smarter legal strategies for defending his client’s interest. His approach is meticulous and results-driven, with an unwavering focus on practical solutions and aggressive advocacy.

Throughout his career, in addition to numerous premises, motor vehicle and labor law cases, Mark has handled complex, high-stakes litigation involving subway tunnel construction, foundation damage claims from high-rise developments, and traffic signal liability in many high value cases.  He has a track record of successful trial outcomes from both sides of the courtroom, as well as many aggressively pursued summary judgment victories.

Prior to joining Brooks & Berne Mark held leadership roles where he oversaw all litigation and trial strategies for both plaintiff and defense cases. He earned his B.A. from Boston University. When not practicing law, he enjoys playing golf and tennis, as well as live theatre and music performances.
