Associate
Austin Gibson earned his JD and MBA from the University of Mercer School of Law. He holds his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University. Austin represents established businesses and individuals in all aspects of civil litigation. His practice focuses on the defense of claims related to general liability, premise liability, contract disputes, construction disputes, transportation matters, automobile liability, and personal injury litigation. With a growing focus in corporate business formation.
Prior to joining Brooks & Berne, Austin’s practice focused primarily on the defense of high-exposure product liability litigation, and government investigations by the United States Department of Justice, the Food and Drug Administration, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and various state Attorneys General and Congressional Committees. His practice centered around individual and class action cases, pending in both state and federal courts around the country. He dealt in matters related to pharmaceutical companies, copyright infringement, patent litigation, breach of contract, consumer product manufacturers, complex construction and general business pre-litigation. He also has a keen heart in giving back and completing community service outreach, earning the K&S Key Contributor award with his pro bono efforts in 2023.
Austin brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the firm along with being recognized as one of the top 40 under 40 Lawyers in both 2019 and 2023 by, “The National Black Lawyers.” He has a noteworthy ability to understand the nuances and intricacies required to defend complex matters as well as connect with clients on a personal level. He works with clients to discuss their goals and deliver tailored, result-driven representation. His background in litigation, mediation, arbitration, and legal analysis allows him to effectively support clients in navigating complex legal matters to help serve the firm and his clients.
