
Josette Simmons
Associate
Josette’s practice includes all aspects of insurance defense, with a particular emphasis on bodily injury claims arising from construction, automobile, and slip-and-fall accidents. Before joining Brooks and Berne, PLLC, Josette spent over twenty years as an Assistant District Attorney, where she prosecuted felony and misdemeanor cases to trial, supervised Arraignments, managed the Freedom of Information Law Unit, and defended the District Attorney’s Office against Article 78 proceedings. Additionally, Josette drafted and argued criminal appeals and post-conviction motions. Josette continued her career in public service at the Delaware Department of Labor, where she presided over hearings as an Appeals Referee in the Division of Unemployment Insurance.
Josette Simmons earned her Juris Doctorate from Boston College Law School and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from New York University. Josette was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1998.
